Welcome to the Unemployment Insurance Division web site.
We provide short-term economic assistance to eligible unemployed workers from the Montana Unemployment Insurance (UI) Trust Fund financed by employers. UI benefits are paid to lighten the burden of unemployment to the individual, to maintain purchasing power in our Montana communities, and to allow laid-off workers to remain in the area so they will be available for reemployment. We provide coverage requirements and regulations for employers to assist them in filing quarterly wage reports and paying UI tax. We are continually striving to improve our service to workers and employers by providing timely, accurate, and useful information in a variety of ways that help you understand the UI program.
