Does it take very long to register for WOW?
We now offer an online registration form to file quarterly reports. To register, please click on this link: https://wow.dli.mt.gov/wowjava/logon1.jsp. If you would like to register to make ACH debit payments, please log into WOW after registering (website above) and on the WOW Main Menu, click on the Register/Update Electronic Payment Information (ACH Debit) link.

If I am an accountant, how do I easily register all of my clients?

Do I have to send in my UI5-E report if I file my taxes, wages and payment online?
No, you do not have to send in the UI5-E report if you file the taxes, wages and payment online. The UI5-E is used as a type of payment coupon where the check can be attached to the form and mailed into us to be processed. You can now print a UI5-E form from both the Quarterly Report Creation screen and the Add/Modify Payment screen in WOW.
If you are submitting payment by check and need a Payment Transmittal Document (UI-5E), please print a copy of it from WOW and attach your check to it and mail to: Unemployment Insurance Division, Contributions Bureau, PO Box 6339, Helena, MT 59604-6339.

Why aren’t my excess wages calculating correctly?
For Excess Wages to calculate correctly in WOW, please enter all the quarterly wages for the entire calendar year. Example: If filing for the 4th quarter 2009, all 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter 2009 wages must be entered into the Input Montana Employee Wages screen separately by quarter and saved. (Please do not submit the previous quarters already filed with the Department of Labor and Industry.) Then the 4th quarter 2009 wages must be entered into the Input Montana Employee Wages screen and also saved for the excess wages to calculate correctly. Also be sure to add any Out of State wages that can be used towards the Montana wage base in the Out of State Wages screen so that excess wages will calculate correctly.

Can I amend a report on WOW?
Yes, you can amend reports on WOW if you filed the original report on WOW. To do this, change the wages for the quarter that needs to be amended and create a new report in the Quarterly Report Creation screen. Then type the reason for the amendment and submit the report. To receive step by step instructions on amending reports in WOW, please see the troubleshooting area in the WOW Online Help menu.

If I have an employee that worked in another state, can I add the wages so I can use towards my excess calculation?
Yes, you can use out of state wages for an employee for excess calculations if the employee worked specifically for your company and was transfered from one state ot another. To receive step by step instrustions to add out of state wages, please see the troubleshooting area in the WOW Online Help Menu.

Is my payment taken directly from my bank account when I submit the report?
No, the payment is only taken from your account when your company is registered for ACH Debit payments and after the payment has been submitted in the Add/Modify Payment Screen. When a report is submitted, the payment must then be manually entered and submitted before we will debit the account for the amount of the payment due. Every quarter, you should have two confirmation numbers, one for the report submission which begin with an R and one for the payment submission which will begin with a P.

If I didn't have any employees, how do I file a “No Wages Paid” Report on WOW?
Simply proceed to the Create New Quarterly Report option, select the quarter, press the Calculate Report button and Submit the report. Since no wages need to be posted and no tax is due, you are done!

How do I print my report and payment information?
To print a report, the report must first be submitted on WOW. If you are on the Quarterly Report Creation screen a link is provided that states Click Here to View a Printable Report. This link is also available on the Quarterly WOW Report History screen. You must have Adobe Reader to be able to view this report and print it. The Payment Screens do not have a print option, but can be printed by pushing the Print Screen and printing or saving the screen shot.
