Trade Readjustment Allowance (TRA) is a special program created by the federal government to retrain workers who were laid off due to increased imports. TRA benefits may be payable to eligible workers following exhaustion of their unemployment insurance benefits, if they are participating in, or have completed an approved training program. Workers may also be eligible for training, a job search allowance, a relocation allowance and other reemployment services. Contact the Claims Processing Center for your area or a Job Service office for additional information regarding these programs.
